Description
453 detroit diesel engine. Spicer 5052 5 speed was just rebuilt by a reputable shop 00 + in reciepts. Can deliver within southern California as it runs & drives. For sale is a 1978 GMC CCLB DRW. This truck has a Detroit 4-53T in it that runs like a sewing machine. The transmission is a Spicer 5052a 5 Speed that was rebuilt last week. (k receipts in hand). This truck is my dream Detroit powered rig. Selling because I can no longer afford to keep working on it and would love to see it finished (as well as doing some fiscal damage control to purchase a more finished project) Truck can be test driven in its current state and is has up to date reg/insurance. The truck needs considerable work, but here's whats been done:
New passenger side fender
New hood (a buddy already creased it but it shuts)
New windshield
D70 rear axle swapped into it as the one it came with was a C&C truck and rubbed. (old axle w/ 17.5” wheels still in the bed)
-Rebuilt drum brakes & ebrake parts
New HD front calipers & pads
Engine was pulled and cleaned up. New gaskets on the oil pan, oil cooler, & valve cover.
Transmission – Pulled to rebuild myself but ended up at a shop due to the extent of the damage. Now has new bearings, syncho, gaskets, hot wash, etc ( all you would expect from a shop)
New Radiator.
New main fuel line & filters
Fresh oil & oil filters (oil pan was hot washed while out of the truck)
Some other small things but the above set me back a fair bit.
Things it needs:
Leak on rear tires (will need new tires)
Alternator not currently charging ( see next point)
Wiring harness – butchered at some point in its life. Blinkers/ running lights work but that’s off a toggle switch
Leaks some oil (worst is from breather gasket which I should be addressing soon)
Power steering box leaks
Front end is TIRED
