    Description

    I don’t use the word “Rare” often but I believe in this case it’s appropriate.
    You are buying an Eversharp Doric Ring Top in Cathay celluloid. I have collected and sold pens for 30 years and this is the first example I have seen.
    It has a Gold Seal Manifold smooth nib.
    It is a particularly long ring top at over 5” closed.
    The pen is scarce on a couple of counts.
    1. Dorics are not often found in Ring Top models and,
    2. Cathay pens are usually cracked, crystallizing or crazing.
    This example has no damage to report. The only slight distract is a darkening of the cap towards the middle-top. This is the dark rubber inner cap showing through the light colored celluloid.
    I have collected and sold pens for30 years and this is the first of its kind that I’ve seen.
    I have not dared to change the sac on this one. I don’t suspect it will become a daily user.
