What I have for you today is a great lot of 60 pieces. These are Winnie the Pooh characters, they were originally intended to be part of a crib mobile (there are enough characters to make 6 mobiles.) OR - if you are Christmas minded like I am, the first thing I saw in my mind was a Winnie the Pooh themed Christmas tree! If you are the least bit crafty it wouldn't take much to change these little guys into Christmas Tree ornaments! Ooooo! Or as ornamentation on a Christmas wreath or garland! A Baby themed wreath for that matter. Decorations for a Pooh themed BABY SHOWER? Somebody stop me! Too many ideas!
Condition and Details:
These are super lightweight (intended to dance in the breeze or at the slightest touch) so they would make great tree ornaments, even on delicate branches.
Each character is sort of puffy, they aren't completely "in the round" as you'll see in the pictures below, but they are puffy so not completely flat.
They seem to be sort of flocked, though some of them seem to have lost some of the flocking or were made with less to start with.
Each one has a plastic hang tag string, some of them have a tag attached, most do not. Tags read, "Decorative, Entertaining, Figures move with the slightest air motion, Attaches to Crib or Wall..."
There are the Pooh Characters I grew up with, as well as some that are the vintage style (Piglet and Tigger appear both as the "new" style and "vintage" style. The "new" style is how they appeared in the 1960s Pooh films. The "Vintage" style looks very antique-ish.)
Based on the "new" vs. "vintage" style I grouped the figures into two groups. The "New" group has 6 of each character: Pooh, Bees and a Honey Pot, Tigger, Piglet, Eeyore, and Kangaroo. The "Vintage style" group has 4 of each of the above mentioned characters.
(Update: I just noticed that when I was taking pictures I got the Kangaroos mixed up and put four of the Kangaroos from the "Newer style" group in the "Vintage style" group and I put the ones that probably should be with the "Vintage style" group in the "New style" group. The ones where the tail curls up is supposed to be with the "vintage style" group. Sorry for the confusion but you get them all either way! LOL)
In the “New style” group one of the Poohs and one of the Kangaroos is dented. In the “Vintage Style” group 2 of the Eeyores, one piglet, one honey pot, and one tigger are dented. The dents are, to me, only really noticeable by eye on one of the Eeyores. I found them all by feel.
It was very hard for me to part with this lot, but I'm sure a worthy Pooh fan will snap these up and make something fantastic with them. A Pooh Themed Christmas Tree? 10 Crib mobiles? What can you think to do with them?
