WAHL EVERSHARP MECHANICAL PENCIL, RHR/GFT/ ROLLER CLIP/GREEK KEY CAP BAND/c1929

Description

This listing excellent WAHL EVERSHARP mechanical pencil in red/black hard rubber. This is a seldom seen pencil and likely would have accompanied one of the oversized, gold seal, personal point pens from about 1929. These pens had the triple cap bands with the GREEK KEY pattern on the center, larger ring.....as does this pencil. Of course, I can't name the endangered wood grain this hard rubber is intended to emulate, but it is quite beautiful. The pencil is 5-3/8" long and is equipped with a roller clip which is marked EVERSHARP.. the only marking on the piece. The gold filled trim is excellent with just one tiny unobtrusive spot of brassing on the clip just above the P in Eversharp and a little on the tip. The .046" lead is advanced by twisting the eraser cap. The cap pulls back, disengaging the advance mechanism and allowing lead addition via the slot in the tube. Further removal of the cap itself reveals the small replacement eraser. A fine pencil.
