Description
Here's an startling oversized WAHL EVERSHARP GOLD SEAL SIGNATURE pen in chased black hard rubber and from about 1930. The external condition of the pen appears excellent with no damage. There is some light wear to the CBHR, but it is all present. The 5-3/8" pen has a barrel diameter at the cap opening of .525." While I'm not sure of the model number for this particular pen, the same basic pen in 1926 without fancy quadruple cap rings, gold seal and a signature nib was identified as a model 76 (still an impresssive pen).. so I'm sure that 76 is a part of the model number for this grand pen. Gold trim is generally excellent but does have the nearly standard wear on the high point of the lever, but all 5 gold rings, the double check gold seal emblem and roller ball clip (slight wear on the ball at the center rolling contact) point are excellent. The wide center cap band is decorated with a GREEK KEY pattern. The pen does have a full name monogram on the barrel prominately engraved, but less distracting in the dark rubber. The top of the cap and bottom of the barrel have gold rings and rounded black ends. The lever filler system needs to have the deteriorated sac replaced before it will take up ink (lever doesn't quite close). The clip is marked WAHL PEN and the only remaining visible exterior mark is MADE IN USA just below the top cap band. Under the cap, section and feed are perfect. The 14K nib is marked WAHL, EVERSHARP, 14K, GOLD SEAL, SIGNATURE. It's a big nib in great shape, fine point, straight, good iridium and significnant flexibility. It is a beautiful quality vintage pen and a pretty scarce model..
